Smithtown, NY – On May 19, 2011, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center held their Healthcare Career Exploration and Internship Program graduation ceremony.  This is a program which was partnered with Commack and Smithtown High Schools.  27 students received a half a health credit through participation in a fourteen week lecture series in healthcare careers.  The students were given hands on experiences as well as industry information in various departments including nursing, pharmacy, physicians, dieticians and laboratory.  The cultivation of future healthcare professionals as well as community outreach initiatives is an important part of St. Catherine’s mission.


St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 5-star rated long-term care facility of choice in northwestern Suffolk County, and is well known in the health care community throughout Suffolk and Nassau for its excellence and for the dedication of its staff and volunteers.
