Diocese of Rockville Centre

ROCKVILLE CENTRE - Sean P. Dolan has been named Director of Communications for the Diocese of Rockville Centre effective July 12. His responsibilities will include working with the secular media as well as the diocesan media entities, the newspaper The Long Island Catholic and the television station Telecare.

Commenting on the work ahead of him, Mr. Dolan said “There are so many good works taking place every day and we need to hear more about them. “

A Long Island native who attended Long Beach and Garden City public schools, Mr. Dolan earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from St. John’s University and a Masters in Communication Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Prior to starting his own firm, he worked in several public relations firms over the past decade. Mr. Dolan also served as the Public Relations Coordinator for the National Catholic Development Conference in Hempstead and a reporter for The Long Island Catholic.

Mr. Dolan lives in Floral Park with his wife Jacqueline, and their two children. He is a member and past officer of the group Public Relations Professionals of Long Island.

Interim Director of Communications Reverend James Vlaun will continue to work in the Office of Public Information as the Bishop’s Consultant for Community Relations, a newly created position as a special advisor to Bishop William Murphy.
