"I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and it comes time for God to judge us, He will not ask, 'How many good things have you done in your life?', rather He will ask, 'How much love did you put into what you did?'"  BMT

Everyone leaves a legacy when they die:  a bequest, something which remains behind.  For each soul it is different in some way, like a fingerprint perhaps, making its mark, however tiny or great, on the world.

Bl. Mother Teresa's is a legacy of love without counting the cost.  She put love into everything that she did, even though we know now that she did not always feel that love from God.  Like many missionaries, she gave her life to bring God's light to a remote corner of darkness on this earth.  Her death on September 5, 1997 spoke as much of that love as did her life.   One of her Sisters tells us:  "Towards the last, Mother much of heaven and she showed so much concern for every Sister...Mother was very loving and affectionate; she was very joyful and radiant."

reach_out.jpgThe circumstances of our own death are unknown for all of us - we know neither when, where, nor how we will depart this world.  So it is important that we make known now, by our choices, by our beliefs, by our very lives, just what our legacy will be.  Will it be one of hate and bitterness at the twists and turns of our life, or will it be one of healing and love?  Today, decide what your fingerprint on the world will be; then reach out and make it happen.

Bl. Mother Teresa, pray for us!
