“When I immersed myself in prayer and united myself with all the Masses that were being celebrated all over the world at that time, I implored God, for the sake of all these Holy Masses, to have mercy on the world and especially on poor sinners who were dying at that moment. .. We do not know the number of souls that is ours to save through our prayers and sacrifices; therefore, let us always pray for sinners.” (Diary)

Prayer is very powerful – it can unite us across time and space.  When St. Maria Faustina prayed, she, along with all the Saints, always remembered that her prayers were joined with the prayers of believers all around the world.  She also understood that our prayer strengthens the communion of saints – in a supernatural way we reach into eternity to grasp the hands of our faithful ancestors.

St.FaustinaIcon.jpgSt. Faustina also focuses on how important our prayers are for others.  Praying even for those we may not know reminds us that we are ALL sinners who share a common hope:  salvation through Christ Jesus.  “Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”  (Romans 5:18-19)

Praise God for His Son, Jesus Christ! Let us always follow the example of St. Maria Faustina in prayer – to pray in communion with all the saints and to pray for the salvation of the world…

St. Maria Faustina, pray for us!
