Padre Pio's life was all about the supernatural.  One person whom he visited with his gift of bilocation was Elena Bandini, a very devout woman who suffered from a horrific stomach cancer which eventually caused her death.  She "asked for no cure.  She wanted to unite (her sufferings) to those of Padre Pio and to offer them for his intentions."  (John McCaffery, "Tales of Padre Pio")

Padre Pio "visited" this holy woman several times, encouraging her to persevere through her ordeal and bringing her much comfort.  When she finally died, he wept at San Giovanni Rotondo.

Let's never forget the supernatural aspect of our faith.  Another Saint, Josemaria Escriva, wrote that 1 + 1 = 2; but 1 + 1 + God = Infinity.  We should never leave God out of our calculations!

Especially in this blessed season of Advent, ask Padre Pio today to remind you of the infinite possibilities of Christ.

St. Padre Pio, pray for us!
